Last post we looked at some of the exciting new autumn trends for men. They’ve certainly arrived with an interesting edge this year – cool and avaunt-garde too! We’re seeing relaxed street style sportswear combo’s and the ‘unexpected’ suit and sneaker trend. This one may take a while for Adelaide and of course, the appropriate business dress code always comes first. But for the guys with a relaxed dress code try a suit, tee and sneakers for the current on trend ‘look’.
Suits are being designed to be worn in different ways this year. The workplace is not just suits, ties and shirts anymore. It’s more ‘edgy meets classic’, and when excellent grooming is applied this can work very well for the office…i.e a fabulous hair cut/style, and a neatly trimmed beard/facial hair.

”Calibre’s Andrew Vance says, that he expects Autumn Winter 2019 to deliver some trends and styles that can be easily picked up and used when thinking about how to dress for the boardroom. Suiting is always evolving and as a result, our approach to the A/W 2019 collection has evolved as well. We have added a relaxed fit in a flannel cloth which has a softer construction in the suit jacket paired back with a single pleat to enhance the appearance of volume.”

The theme for men this autumn is versatility and mixing it up to reflect the man himself – think self-expression! You can choose to wear a tie, shirt and dress shoes with your suit – or equally, a bold logo tee, scarf, sneakers, and bumbag. But there’s still plenty of suiting available in the classic timeless silhouette. But a creative new chapter has emerged in suiting with bold checks and wide pinstripes – experimentation on textures also. Chino’s are still huge this A/W and great alternatives to suit pants. Layering’s a must to match the cold weather. Try vertical stripe shirts under cardigans and denim jackets under long warm heavy coats. Men are wearing it, ‘their way’ this season!

We’ll also see a vibrancy to men’s clothing this A/W – much less muted. This is an exciting change, particularly for the gent with a creative or dramatic personality. Colour always plays an important role in new trends, hence, the burst of autumnal and earthy hues. The autumn palate is injected with rich deep earthy tones, like burnt orange, soft blue, moss green and hints of rust and camel. Popular colours for suiting in A/W19 are deeper shades of burgundy and navy.
The added value and versatility of taking an outfit from work to play has never been easier!
