Last post I touched briefly on what trends to look out for for spring. As I mentioned it’s the emergence of exciting and unconventional trends for 2018 – think colour, comfort and anything that looks and feels like fun – I love the sound of that.
And apparently the mixing of not only multiple bright colours in one outfit, but also in prints and patterns to. This will challenge many out of their comfort zone, or not at all. Often new trends that are a little daring take the Adelaide woman a while to ‘come around’, but if you love being the creative type or love drama throughout your wardrobe you’ll be rushing to indulge.
And for those who are more classic, relaxed or feminine perhaps match a crazy colourful pattern shirt or jacket with a subdued pair of bottoms to balance out your personality. Or, do the alternative – a 3\4 wide leg trouser in a funky colourful pattern, nude heel or wedge shoe with a light neutral blouse for some subtle softness. To keep it bright but less ‘obvious’ consider lots of colour in solid separates. Or you could start with an ‘on trend’ oddly shaped bag in a bright colour that’s small and insignificant.
Don’t forget red shoes and boots of all sorts are huge! This could get you through the season feeling ‘out there’ in a fun and bright way that warms your heart without feeling silly this spring.
And For The Guys…
Still classic but consider vertical stripes are they’re ‘in’ and will be a nice change from horizontals.
Keep it ultra-casual and relaxed doing ‘the Dad look’ with loose fitting jeans, shirts and tees – great for the weekend with no pressure to try too hard.
For all the sporty, mountain climbing, outdoor enthusiast manly men, you’re more modern than you think! One of the big trends to walk down the runway this year was the mountain and outdoor looks. This saw rain jackets, anoraks, cargo pants, and industrial looking backpacks.
On another note, add some timeless class by throwing on a plaid check sports coat to go anywhere any time – this can also bring the outfit up a notch!
Floral Hawaiian print shirts are back and perfect for the spring weather, and for the guy who doesn’t want to stand out in this trend you’ll find more subtle options out there.
