Goodbye freezing winter – spring is finally here! I love spring for many reasons – the anticipation of warmer days, a freshness in the air and longer days ahead. The spring trends will inspire you to revitalise your wardrobe all over again. Look out for lighter brighter fabrics, get creative through colour blocking, unexpected layering, feminine puffy sleeves and head-to-toe stripes. That’s just the beginning, there’s so much more in store for this spring and into summer…

Think cargo’s – a fave of mine for ultimate comfort and a relaxed look! So we’ve been living in leggings and lounge-wear for the past two years due to lock-downs and the pandemic. And while these two staples aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, cargo’s will raise the style bar significantly! You’ll find them in floaty, loose wide leg styles but in lux fabrications such as silk.

Micro-mini skirts – long legs will reign supreme this season! A-line is the cut and will suit many silhouettes. We’ll see the micro mini dominate in denim, pinstripe, floral, buttoned down, patchwork, flounced and ruffled hemlines. Pair and match with a colourful striped tee for some fun and interest.

Go and get creative with crazy, swirling, psychedelic prints – vintage inspired graphics are also big for spring. We see these fashion fads come and go but many will love and appreciate this vibrant and lively wardrobe trend – it will surely spark joy for those in difficult times.

Fitted garments – we’ve all loved our slouchy and oversized garments forever. But this spring will see a move toward fitted clothing and outfits. Showing off your silhouette and close to the body clothing is the ‘new look’. It’s not all bad news though as the fabrics will be stretchy and super comfy – think ribbed, knit, mesh, crepe and twill. Look for pants, tops and jumpers but in particular dresses as these will rule.

High waisted wide leg pants and trousers – a trickier trend to ‘pull off’ but not impossible. Fashionistas can’t get enough of this current trend – it’s elegant with a big twist of comfort. Most will need somewhat of a heel to support the wide leg trouser so save them for work or a special night out. They’re a great way to elongate the legs and if you have a defined waist they’ll sit perfectly to highlight that area. Turn the wide leg high waisted pants into a classic and timeless ensemble by adding a matching blazer. This also makes the perfect and versatile day to evening outfit.
