Yay, holiday season is fast approaching!
Just following on from my presentation yesterday with the lovely ladies from Rolling Solo Australia
Before you pack, check all of my best but simple tips to make the process seamless and stylish 🥰

1. For all your travel needs, reach out to Kylie at Kylie Duncan-Tiver MTA Mobile Travel Agents – a truly exceptional travel agent. She’ll ensure peace of mind from home to your destinations and back again!
2. Check the Weather: Essential but often overlooked! This makes it easier to plan and pack. Remember, 20 degrees in Adelaide isn’t the same as 20 degrees in tropical Darwin or Townsville during wet season.

3. Make Two Lists: Write one list for essentials and one for desirables. Be realistic about the desirable items and only pack what’s truly necessary. Leave room for anything you may pick up during your travels.
4. Bring a First Aid Kit: Compact and helpful for those “just in case” moments!

5. Travel-Size Your Liquids: Keep creams, skincare, and shampoos under 100ml and pack them in a transparent resealable bag as required by airlines.
Or, save space by buying these items at your destination (unless you’re heading to the desert).
6. Make Your Luggage Stand Out: Attach a name tag and tie a brightly colored ribbon to your suitcase handle to easily spot it in a crowd.

7. Keep Valuables in Your Carry-On: Stow your passport, wallet, and jacket in your carry-on. A sturdy backpack keeps your hands free while wheeling luggage.
8. Pack a Mini Wardrobe in Your Carry-On: Include a fresh top, socks, undergarments, scarf, and a light jacket or cardigan. This keeps you fresh during long flights or if your luggage is delayed.

9. Organize Your Suitcase by Type: Group similar items together (pants with pants, tops with tops etc), so everything is easy to find. Make sure your clothing items mix & match as much as possible creating multiple outfit options & variety!
10. Consider Rolling Your Clothes: Rolling saves space and minimizes wrinkles & you can see everything. Opt for fabrics like knits, merino wool, jersey, chiffon, viscose, and fine cottons – these dry quickly and hold their shape.

11. Opt for pieces with patterns, prints, or unique embellishments to bring variety and style to your outfits without overpacking. Remember: less is more! The lighter you pack, the less to unpack – and less laundry during and after your trip!
12. For undergarments, wear a wired bra on the plane and pack a non-wired bra that rolls easily into your carry-on. If you have strapless dresses or tops, bring a strapless bra with removable straps to double as an everyday option. Pack two pairs of socks: one to wear or carry on the plane if it gets chilly, and one stuffed into your shoes. Tuck enough underwear into the other shoe for around four days; handwashing daily can help you avoid running out.
Bring two small bags for storing dirty clothes and undergarments.

13. For sleepwear, a lightweight cotton nightie that dries quickly or a pair of pajama bottoms with two matching tank tops is sufficient. If your accommodation lacks dressing gowns, pack a light satin robe that can be rolled up compactly. Flip-flops can double as slippers.
14. A spacious backpack for personal items lets you stay hands-free to wheel your trolley. Only bring a small travel hair dryer if absolutely necessary, and hair straighteners should fit easily in your case. For everyday use, a neutral-toned nylon or canvas tote bag is ideal, as it’s flexible and lightweight. Add a small evening bag or clutch that fits essentials like keys, phone, lipstick, a small mirror, tissue, ID, and cash; this can go in an outer or inner pocket of your trolley for easy access.
