It seemed that spring was never going to arrive after the long cold winter we’ve just had. But spring is finally here, along with it many beautiful new collections in the stores.
My number one favorite item would have to be the ‘trackie jean’! If you’re like me and love your jeans and trackie this season you can wear the best of both worlds together! These comfy casual pants mostly come in cotton and a tencel, also referred to as lyocell, but feels much like rayon.
Tencel is a lovely ecofriendly fabric that comes from sustainable tree farms which is then made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. Tencel is also 100% biodegradable, has natural breathability and has 50% greater moisture absorption than cotton making it perfect for spring/summer. It’s also wonderful for those with sensitive skin. Tencel is a lightweight, soft and smooth fabric that will feel like silk on your skin.
For the curvy gal who hates feeling swamped and chunky in traditional denim, you’ll find this fabric will drape and skim your curves perfectly. While the trackie jean is mostly a casual look, by all means dress them up with ankle boots, heels or leopard print flats. Wear with a slightly over sized tee or shirt layered with a fur vest, scarf or interesting necklace. A lovely relaxed outfit indeed.
