I can’t quite believe we’re already in March and welcoming autumn after such a long, warm/hot & beautiful summer. But I’m not complaining – this is my season! The warm, deep, toasty tones of my Exotic palette (what would traditionally be called a Deep Soft Autumn) feel completely at home right now – rich chocolates, burnished bronzes, rust reds, olive greens & tan neutrals. Spicy’s get to enjoy the autumn colours too, just lighter.

The lovely thing is, I’m not rushing out to replace everything. I already have many beautiful autumn pieces in my wardrobe that I still adore & that will carry me effortlessly through this season & well into winter. That’s the beauty of dressing intentionally, your wardrobe continues to serve you year after year.
Across the broader fashion industry, there’s a very clear shift toward sustainability, craftsmanship and versatility in autumn collections. Designers are focusing on pieces that are thoughtful, multi-seasonal & beautifully made – not disposable. And I absolutely love that. A wardrobe full of clothes that never get worn is never a good thing.
Here in Australia, March is all about that in-between dressing – warm days, cooler evenings, so it’s less about heavy coats & more about intelligent layering. Think lightweight trenches, structured knitwear, cropped jackets over skirts or tailored trousers. Purposeful layering, refined classics with a modern twist, tactile textures & those grounded, earthy palettes we associate so naturally with autumn.
It feels both exciting & practical & that to me, is a great balance.
