The fabulous Robert Irwin hosted this year’s 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards, & there were certainly plenty of gorgeous gown moments to talk about!
I have to say, Sonia Kruger – STUNNING! ![]()
That shimmering bronze antique gold gown with all that beautiful movement was truly made for her. I loved the way the gown colour had her beautiful big brown eyes popping and the focus. And I love the golden sparkle of the dress that harmonized with her relaxed golden long locks. This gown worked perfectly with her gorgeous warm colouring and the sparkle, texture & fringe gave the whole look so much impact without needing any accessories.
And even better, this gown is Aussie designed & made by Australian designer Leah Da Glória. It is a hand-sculpted, handcrafted piece that reportedly took more than 100 hours to create – incredible!!
And Miranda Tapsell in red… Oh WOW Factor! ![]()

That is the power of a fabulous colour when it suits you! The warm orange/red of the gown had such presence & drama but didn’t overwhelm her Exotic colouring. And the beautiful shape of the gown perfect for her physicality it created a real entrance. You certainly weren’t going to miss Miranda on that red carpet – such elegance & class!
And this is exactly why I love looking at red-carpet fashion through a stylist’s eyes.
It’s not simply about whether we like the dress – it’s about why it works.
Colour undertone, value & colour contrast, shape, proportion, line & design, texture all come together to create harmony and balance or to simply create some drama & make a statement!
I also thought Emma Watkins & Ally Langdon looked fabulous in the gowns chosen for them.

The colour, line & design were so on point for both ladies, and most importantly, their personalities really shone through, which, for me, is always the most important part of getting dressed.
